If any Cape Owners have a overhead shot of their bow mounted trolling motor laying
On the deck can you please post a picture. Trying to find the best angle

I had an alum plate made so the TM would clear the rubrail.

here the is TM down.

I used an old shore power cord and ran it up into the anchor locker.

I put the two batteries in the console. good luck with your TM installation.

please note that the bow lights will not be visible from certain angles.

From my understanding, a large percentage of 186s get a trolling motor. Not sure why Pioneer keeps putting that high dollar, only last a year, blocked by any trolling motor flip up bow light. A plug in Perko is a third the cost and does a much better job and last a lot longer also and is LEGAL with a trolling motor!

Thanks for the pictures as that will give me a great line on how it should sit as I do not want to drill the right hole in the wrong place. Did you mount another plate in the anchor box to sandwich the deck?
Not sure how many Pioneer boats are in the Rockies so thanks for the pictures

Russ, I just used big fender washers inside the anchor locker.

and I think you're right, not many 186's in Colorado or east of the Mississippi. I bet it's hard to find a West Marine too.

I used SS fender washers in the anchor locker also and drilled one extra hole in the trolling motor base to better anchor the motor. Did not use any base plate, bolted the base straight to the deck. Works great for the fortrex.
