If your boat has a T-top, then I highly doubt you are going to even get close to 50mph with a Yamaha F150 unless you take everything out of the boat with very little gas or have a crazy tail wind. That's awful fast for that motor/boat combination with the T-Top. I think your realistic expectation would be in the low 40s depending on conditions. My boat with the same motor will hit top out in the low 40s depending on what conditions/load I am using my boat in.

don't know what SS prop I have on my 150 but it works well on my 197SF with a T-top pulling skiers up and will hit 46-47 with 3-4 people and full fuel tank

This forum doesn't run as fast of others that you may have used. It is a very limited population. Still a lot of knowledgeable members here. Just have to be patient and persistent.

I can respond but I have a Suzuki F150 rather than a Yammer. I have a t-top with spray shield, and my top end is maybe 43-44 loaded with two people, calm water, and no wind. That's just fine IMO for this boat, as I have run a 197 with a ETec 175 HO on up to near 60 mph, and it starts to float around upper 40's, and is getting downright scary in the 50s. With a little chop it feels like it could be easy to lose control at higher speeds. Too much wind resistance in that top, the shield, and high sides/Carolina flare for a speeder.

2005 197 SF: SS Yamaha Reliance 14.25 - 17M
with T-top, 2 people and gear, runs at WOT trimmed up at about 6000 RPM in the low to mid 40s.

I run the 17-M 14-1/4 stainless prop and have seen 46-47 mph once or thrice. I had the prop cupped for a better hole shot and to get the top RPMs off 6100 rpms. Now I see 5800 rpms and 43-44 mph measured via GPS.

I run the Yamaha SDS 14.25x17. You can run the 18 and get a little faster top end. As stated I don't get near 50. Most of the time my boat is full of fuel with t top and at least two people I get about 40.
