Should I get polling platform on my Cape Island

PostSat Nov 09, 2013 8:03 pm

Just wondering if you guys that have pulling platforms on your Cape Island find them useful. Do any of you actually Poll your Cape Island in the shallows. I think I would use it more to site fish and use trolling motor. I am kind of in between purchasing the polling platform or a power pole. The platform does make the boat look even sexier than it is already.

i have a platform on mine, but it's wasn't designed to be a "poling" platform. i have a MK trolling motor that does the job of pushing.

look back at some of my old posts and others for some ideas. most of us have put some sort of platform on our CI's.

oh, and be ready to spend $500 - $700. i also had a boarding ladder made.

I use a hand operated Minn Kota Riptide SF series trolling motor. Unless you actually plan to do much poling, it would appear to me to just get in the way.
Have a great day!

I have a Ski pylon disguised as a poling platform...in one summer it was used as a ski pylon a diving platform and a nice seat. I do hope to add the remote trolling motor and actually use it to cast from in the future. I have a topic on here for the build of my platform.
